I have oily combination skin and I just bought a set that had a 200ml bottle of the dramatically different lotion and i did’nt notice until the next day. I would like to know if there is a big difference between the gel and the lotion.thanks
i like the gel better just because it feels lighter to me. it seems to absorb faster and doesn’t feel oily at all. i to have a combination of oily and dry skin.
I have oily skin and I hate it when I put make-up on it doesnt stay nice for long. My face later appears oily. Im interested in buying this product but I wonder if it woks or what else can work for my oily skin. Please help.
I beg you NOT to use/buy MAC. MAC is a theatrical makeup brand, most people don’t know it and more than most sales counter people won’t tell you so buying their oil control lotion is a joke.
You need a "facial cleanser and toner" not lotion for an oily face, thou you will need to moisturize after with a oil-free cream.
Tip: try to find those three products for your age group like if you’re in your teens, 20’s, 30’s, 40’s etc… The products within your age group have the formal you’ll need to feel beautiful and confident!!! =)
i have very oily skin which leads to acne breakouts, and blemishes, i also have very dry sking year around whats acne cleaners, or lotions are good for me
I have a similar problem, as does my mom and brother. The best lotion that has worked for us is called hydrocortisone cream. You can usually get it at the pharmacy. You don’t need a prescription, but you may need to ask the pharmacist to get it for you.
It’s not recommended to use any sort of lotion on a pimple prone skin as oily skin must not be made oilier. But to avoid dust and oil use a good herbal face wash atleast 3times a day and once before going to sleep. Apply good non-sticky sunscreen and brush a compact over that to avoid oily effect. Drink lot of water. Don’t touch pimples with hand. Apply ointment like clearasil or another prescribed one. A pimple should go away in 3-4 days. Few stay for longer. Apply turmeric powder + water to pimples before sleeping for natural healing. No side-effects whatsoever.
My foundation and powder looks SO oily after about 4-5 hours throughout the school day. I’ve tried lots of different foundation also. Just liquid, liquid and powder, just powder, mineral makeup. and nothing has worked for my oil skin. So i was wondering if someone can give me a mini review on any of the two products? Also if you have any type of foundation that works good for oily skin let me know.
If you’re set on using a MAC product, I would try the MAC Oil Control Lotion. Personally it didn’t work that great for me as far as oil absorption goes, but it was a decent light weight moisturizer. The MAC Prep & Primer did absolutely nothing except cost a fortune. I too have super oily skin, and have tried an insane amount of products to try to get rid of it. I’ve recently discovered 4 products that work better than anything I’ve ever found. These keep oil away pretty much all day long, and work best when applied in the order listed: 1) Dr Brandt Pores No More Pore Effect 2) Estee Lauder Maximum Cover Foundation 3) Mattify Oil Absorbing Loose Powder 4) Model in a Bottle Makeup Setting Spray.
The Dr Brandt Pore Effect is an amazing moisturizer that controls oil while keeping pores clean with tea tree and salicylic acid. Apply before you apply foundation for soft skin with minimized pores. The Estee Lauder Max Cover Foundation is a super light weight makeup packed with pigment, so you only need to use a little bit to cover any imperfection, acne or freckles. The Mattify Oil Absorbing Powder is a great secret weapon to fight oil. You can actually apply both immediately before and after foundation for added oil control. It’s totally transparent, so it doesn’t leave your skin feeling cakey and heavy like some colored powders do. Great for a touch-up too, as long as you pat it on your skin (don’t rub). It won’t disturb your foundation, but will give you a poreless matte finish. Model in a Bottle is a setting spray that you mist over your face after applying all of your makeup at the beginning of the day. It allows all of your makeup to be transfer resistant and combats oil too. This is especially great for summer weather, or time at the beach, when you don’t want makeup running down your face!
Hope these tips help you out! Since I’ve been using this routine, I went from having to use oil blotting papers every single hour to only doing 2 touch-ups per 10 hour day with the clear Mattify Powder.
