hey. so around the winter of 07, I slipped over a blanket that was laying on the floor, my body landed on a mattress that was also on the floor, and my head slammed into a coffee mug that was stupidly placed beside the mattress. a piece of the mug went into my skin right beside and a little bit below my left eyebrow. I went to the ER and received stitches and the doctor who stitched me up was a really young looking guy who seemed pretty new to the whole thing. I took care of the stitches very well but I’ve been left with a pretty noticeable scar that is about maybe three centimetres in length. people don’t notice it much because I have a bit of bangs and I have them always covering the scar. It is a huge deal for me and a big cause of insecurity; I am always paranoid that it is showing and am constantly playing with my hair to cover it and I hate when people are close to my face. that sounds silly now that I am reading it but it is really a big deal for me. I’ve been rubbing this treatment called Bio-Oil on it on and off for a few months now and I’ve applied tons of vitamin E to it but I see no difference.

I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with treating scars or know someone who has. I have been heavily considering plastic surgery to have it removed/lightened but I can’t find too much stuff on the web about this. I know there are a few different ways to go about it, including injections and laser treatment but again, I was just wondering if any of you have had this done/know someone who has or have any information on the topic.

it would be GREATLY appreciated.

    Scarring!?!?
i just popped a whitehead on the tip of my nose. (eww) its gone now but underneath the skin, the blood spread a bit so iv got a small red patch on my nose. is this scarring or will it become one? how can i get rid of it by tomoro without using products? or is there a way to treat this so it will fade away in a few days?

    help!
will toothpaste be any help for the blotch!? or will it only work on actual whiteheads!? plz help me
will olive oil help to fade the scar?

It wont scar and will probably go itself by morning. I’d recommend rubbing it really gently for a couple of mins before you go to sleep. Dont panic or the stress might bring out more spots by morning ;-)

there will be a scar but it will fade after a while as long as u dont get another one in the same spot…..my doc told me that the sun aggravates it so sunscreen is good but i don’t use i cause it makes my face 2 oily…dont pop anymore…

That has happened to me too for the exact same reason. It won’t scar but I’m afraid it’ll leave in 2 days, not by tomorrow. Best you can do is cover up with makeup, but don’t worry, it can be covered easily and it won’t leave a scar :)

Leave it alone to heal & don’t smear anything on it. Scars heal gradually over time, there is nothing that will that will heal them completely & only a miracle will do it overnight.

toothpaste is for spots not scarring

olive oil is just grease & you may wind up making things worse by causing spots to form

In future, don’t squeeze whiteheads, they form under the skin & don’t come to the surface, you’re supposed to leave them be
